Parent Helpers.
Please
speak to your group leader if you are interested in being a parent
helper. We would like to get more parents involved in the group as
well as give more support to our leaders. Many thanks to any parents
who have helped. CRB checks are needed for regular helpers but casual
occasional helpers don’t need CRB if the leader is present.
Natural History
Museum Trip
The
Beavers, Cubs and Scouts experienced an exciting day out at the
Natural History Museum in London on 28th
November. The trip was extremely well supported by all three
sections, with the coach full to capacity! The Museum’s wide
variety of exhibits meant that there was something to excite everyone
and the children were thoroughly engaged with the interactive
exhibits.
At
lunch time all Sections met for a picnic at the indoor picnic area.
Then, with batteries recharged, it was time for more exploring. At
the end of the day everybody congregated in the Central Hall for
photo’s before returning home.
Remembrance Day
Service
A
Big thanks you to all those who took
part in the Remembrance Day Service in Great Barford. The parade began at the
High Street opposite the Post Office and
ended at the Parish Church with a short Service in the Garden
of Remembrance.
Children in Need
Cake Sale
On
20 November the Scouts held a cake sale and balloon race to raise
money for Children in Need. The Scouts had lots of fun, and cake! A
fantastic £235 was raised!
Leader Training
The
Group is lucky to have committed leaders who are always eager to
expand the activities that they can provide for the children. Some of
the leaders are currently training or retraining in Archery, Shooting
and Canoeing. This will help to maintain and expand the activities
available for the children on meeting nights.
